Barn Red and Coffee

Om and Muna already lived in Kansas City, Kansas before moving into their new home. After a long journey to the U.S. in search of a better life, they were resettled in Wyandotte County. They immediately began working, providing for their families and planting strong roots in their new community. Years passed and all was going well, but their dream was a new house to call “home” for their growing family. They understood that a home was important, especially for their children and their futures.

CHWC strategic partner, Chief Properties, a local KCK real estate firm, wisely and quickly recognized their resilience, strong work ethic and high financial literacy. With the help of Chief Properties, they were referred to CHWC’s homebuyer education class, then completed a rigorous mortgage qualification process. Their perseverance paid off. Om and Muna closed on the sale of their brand-new home on Monday, August 7, 2017.

They are all settled into their new home and welcomed CHWC staff with open arms and delicious warm coffee.  Their home sits on the old McKinley School site in KCK. They chose the 803 Plan a spacious ranch style home that accommodates inter-generational families just like them. They chose a traditional Barn Red color for the exterior and a Pristine White interior. It is beautiful!

Through hard work, patience and perseverance their dream became reality. Om and Muna are happy. CHWC is delighted to welcome them to the neighborhood. A win-win.
