Hard Work Pays Off

November 2, 2018

Saha and his family lived in Nepal for over 20 years before moving to the US in 2012.

Saha, his wife and four children lived in an apartment in Kansas City, Kansas before purchasing their home. Like other immigrant families, the Biswas had many questions about the home buying process. Saha turned to his family for advice and because a couple members of his family purchased CHWC homes in the past, they advised him to come and talk to us.

CHWC met Saha in April of 2018; he wanted to learn everything he could about purchasing a home. He quickly enrolled to take our Home Buyer Education class and with the team of CHWC professionals and our community partners, he completed the online mortgage application. Once he was pre approved, Saha scheduled an appointment with CHWC’s Home Sales Manager and began exploring his options.

The St. Benedict’s Place neighborhood was an ideal choice for the family. The children’s school is within walking distance and they are excited about all of the development going on in the area.

With the help of their loan officer and CHWC partner Maria Porta at Capitol Federal Savings Bank, real estate agent Bryce Workman with Chief Properties, and the Unified Government of Kansas City HOME Funds, the Biswas closed on their home on October 5, 2018 with nearly $40,000 in subsidy.

CHWC is so incredibly proud of how far this family has come!  They worked very hard for their home and now Saha says he can relax knowing his family is in a beautiful, healthy home.

Welcome to St Benedict’s!

CHWC is proud to be apart of your family’s story and we hope you make loving memories in your new home!
