It's an easy process,
and we can help at every step!

Step One

Submit a completed application including all supporting documentation. Incomplete applications will NOT be reviewed.

Contact us (913) 229-3180 if you have any questions about the application. Missing and incorrect documentation will delay your application process.

Step Two

Once you have completed the application, call (913) 229-3180 to make an appointment to speak with one of our housing counselors.

At this appointment we will review your application and supporting documents to determine if your household is eligible.

Step Three

If your household is eligible, the Home Repair Manager will reach out to schedule a home visit where they will determine if your project is eligible (health and safety, accessibility, and code compliance).

Step Four

If your project AND household qualify, you will need to complete Homeowners 101, a simple course on homeownership, before the project will begin. Courses are available in English y en español.

You can pay for and take this class before you get approved for the grant to minimize delays after approval. If you choose to take the class in advance, you will be refunded the class fee if your project is approved.

Step Five

Once you are approved, the home repair manager will contact you to select vendor and start your project!
